In a letter to friend Berge on February 27, 1923, Horace Kephart explains his delay in sending the camping equipment list. Kephart wrote an article on a rushed deadline and cared for Cooper who was sick at the hotel. His list of recommendations includes an Abercrombie and Fitch Miner’s tent, bedding for one person, tools (hatchet, knife, compass, lantern, etc.), cooking supplies, and packs. Kephart informs Berge that the cooking kit accommodates three people.
