Description
This photograph was taken by George Dexter Sherrill (1879–1931) a commercial photographer in the first decades of the 20th century. Sherrill was born in Dillsboro, North Carolina. In 1902 he opened Sherrill’s Art Studio in Waynesville, where he produced images reproduced on postcards, did photo-finishing, and sold Eastman Kodak photo supplies. In 1920, Sherrill moved to Asheville where he lived and worked until his death in 1931.
