Description

In 1931, Western Carolina Teachers College awarded its first baccalaureate degrees after the state legislature authorized the school's four-year curriculum in 1929. The students in this picture made up the first class to receive baccalaureate degrees from the school. W.E. Bird sits on the left and H.T. Hunter sits on the right.
