A pamphlet from Hiram Tyram Hunter (1883-1947) containing a preliminary announcement for the 1925-26 session of the Cullowhee State Normal School--its very first session since its name change from Cullowhee Normal and Industrial School. According to Hunter, this announcement was necessary due to a delay in publication of the regular catalog brought about by various factors such as having a new charter for the school, changes in the Board of Trustees, and expectation of a new policy for the institution. Hunter goes on to state some brief facts about the School regarding its location, curriculum, and faculty. He also states that a mailing list will be created of prospective students and others who can be mailed the catalog and are interested in supporting the School. Hunter who began his tenure as president of the Cullowhee Normal and Industrial School headed the School through its transition to Cullowhee State Normal School and then to Western Carolina Teachers College, a four-year institution.
