Description

Helder Residence Hall was dedicated April 8, 1967. It was named for Horatio A. Helder, an executive at Champion Papers in Canton, North Carolina as well as a member of the Western Carolina College's Board of Trustees. Helder and his wife Adah Clark Helder provided scholarships for students from Haywood County. The building was torn down to make room for the Courtyard Dining Facility.
