This 12-page issue of Ebony Chronicles came out in the spring of 1996 and was published by the Organization of Ebony Students. The news magazine voiced the issues and concerns of WCU’s African American community and celebrated their accomplishments and achievements. Named in 1973, the Organization of Ebony Students was originally the Black Students United for Liberation which was founded in 1968 to promote unity among African American students. The organization is now called the Black Student Union and continues to promote the interests of WCU’s African American student body through cultural and educational activities and is open to all cultures.
