Description

Matt Nickols interviews Ben Beaver and his wife, Betty Beaver on November 24,2004. They discuss Ben’s history and family traditions related to wood carving in the Appalachian region of Western North Carolina. Ben Beaver is the nephew of Nolan Beaver (1916-1998), a wood carver that sometimes sold his carvings through the woodcarving cooperative at the John C. Campbell Folk School which became known as the Brasstown Carvers.
