After expressing his affection for the mountains and for traditional culture, he shares his perspective on addiction and his approach to treatment, which involves finding outlets in activity or creativity. Owle then talks about the work he and his wife do in Bryson City with precious metal clay, and discusses traditional Cherokee crafts such as pottery and stone carving, and he talks about how he obtains the stone that he uses for carving. He then discusses his tools and approach to carving, and shares some information about other Indian tribes and their approaches to stone carving. After this, he discusses his philosophy of life and how he manages to remain positive. The interview closes with Owle telling a Cherokee legend about the origin of the flute and talking about storytelling.
