Early postcards illustrating life and scenery in western North Carolina were published by several companies in and around the region. Little is known about the maker of this card, S.M. Macfie of Brevard, located in Transylvania County. Most of the cards that were published by Macfie were made in the first decades of the 20th century and depicted sites near Brevard.
