Description

Early postcards illustrated life and scenery in western North Carolina. This one depicts a particularly dramatic landscape picturing the view west from Chimney Top Mountain in Sapphire. R. Henry Scadin (1861-1923) had been employed by the North Carolina Geological Survey in 1890s before opening Scadin & Company in Asheville. He frequently took photographs in and around Brevard and Toxaway.
