Description

These photographs were taken by Edgar S. Purdom. Born in 1900, Purdom opened a custom furniture shop in Wayah Valley, near Franklin, NC, in 1946. He was a hobby photographer and made these photographs in western North Carolina. There are 56 photographs in the series. Purdom died in 1987 and is buried at St. John's Cartoogechaye Episcopal Church Cemetery.
