Description

Pictured here is the home of Eleanor P. Vance (1869-1954) and Charlotte L. Yale (1870-1958) who moved to Tryon in 1915 to open the Tryon Toy Makers Shop. From 1915 to 1922 toys were marked “Tryon Toy Makers and Weavers,” and after 1922 marked “Tryon Toy Makers and Wood Carvers.” The entrance to the work room of the Tryon Toy Makers and Weavers is on the far right. This image was printed by Lollar's in Birmingham, Alabama.
