Description
The show begins with Amy’s Halloween ghost story “The Gray Lady,” which is about a ghost in Love’s Field. The story is followed by “Laney Field Haint” by Buddy Melton. On Creative Corner, Doreyl continues her conversation with Betty Brown, who tells the origin of her song “Abiding in the Vine,” which follows the interview, and she also shares her motivations for songwriting. Amy’s guest on Stories of Mountain Folk is Marion Jones of Sylva, owner of Jones’ Country Store & Museum. He talks about his life and work, and shares how he came into the antiques business and some of the things he has in his store. “Bury Me Beneath the Willow” by Lonesome Sound follows the interview. On This Is My Home, Joe talks with Pearl Krepps of Glenville, who talks about her research into the history of Glenville Wesleyan Church and some of the history of the Glenville area. “Who Will Sing for Me?” by the Compost Mountain Boys follows the interview. On Down Another Road, Judy talks again with Jack Wood. He shares some stories from his childhood in Caney Fork and talks briefly about his work in Charlotte as a teacher and principal. The interview is followed by "Maybe" by the Muses, and "On the Sunny Banks" by Archie Watkins ends the show.
