Doreyl welcomes Richard Hurley from Canton to Creative Corner. They discuss how Richard became a musician and his involvement with regional music festivals. Richard also talks about the importance of preserving mountain music and culture. “John Henry” by Henry Queen follows the segment. On Stories of Mountain Folk, Amy interviews Gin Lewis Moses from the Little Savannah community of Jackson County. She shares her memories of growing up in a large family. The interview is followed by “Precious Memories” by Tennessee Ernie Ford. Mary Sue Casey’s guest on Let Us March On is Georgia Forney from Waynesville. She talks about memories from her school days at the Pigeon Street School in the 1940s as well as her church and community. The segment is followed by “I’ll Be Alright” by Lessie Williams. On Down Another Road, Judy Rhodes brings more memories of Dorothy Reese Thoma from the Little Creek community of Madison County. She shares some stories from the schools she attended during her education. “Little Girl of Mine in Tennessee” by Lonesome Sound follows the interview. The show closes with a musical tribute to this great nation, “America the Beautiful”, and the poem “America’s Blessings” written by Pat Shamrock and presented by Amy Ammons Garza.
