Description
Black Rock, a well-known peak of the Plott Balsam range in western North Carolina, rises to an elevation of 5,810 feet. This postcard vista was taken near Sylva, N.C., and was postmarked July 27, 1914. Black Rock's elevation exceeds that of Sylva, at an altitude of 2,047 feet, by over 3,500 feet. Cleared fields and homes are seen in the foreground.
