This photograph shows George Masa (1885-1933), on the left, with an unidentified chauffeur posing on the runner of an automobile. Masa, a native of Japan, opened a photographic studio in Asheville, North Carolina in 1920 and was active until his death in 1933. He became widely known for his scenic photographs of the Great Smoky Mountains and other areas of western North Carolina. The photographer's name is unknown
