Description

These two certificates of April 7, 1945 titled "Domain of Neptunus Rex: Ruler of the Raging Main" certify that Ruth Hooper and Carr Hooper crossed the equator. They would have been on their way home from Santo Tomas Internment Camp in Manila, Philippines where they were interned from January 1942 to February 1945. The camp, also known as the Manila Internment Camp, was run by the Japanese military during World War II and housed over 3,000 internees from January 1942 until February 1945.
