This personal narrative by Carr Hooper was written after the first American air raid occurred in Manila, Philippines September 21, 1944. The camp, also known as the Manila Internment Camp, was run by the Japanese military during World War II and housed over 3,000 internees, including Carr Hooper and his wife Ruth Hooper, from January 1942 until February 1945.
