Description

This receipt, dated August 9, 1944 and signed by F. C. Bailey from the Finance Division of the Manila Internment Camp belonged to W. Carr Hooper. Carr and his wife Ruth were interned at the Santo Tomas Internment Camp in Manila, Philippines from January 1942 to February 1945. The camp, also known as the Manila Internment Camp, was run by the Japanese military during World War II and housed over 3,000 internees from January 1942 until February 1945.
