Description

Castanea mollissima Blume. North Carolina: Swain County. Little Tennessee River, Needmore footbridge. Elevation 549 m (1800 ft). Sandy floodplain. Young sapling beneath large tree. Had been killed back and re-grown from rootstock. 18 May 1989.
