Description

Castanea dentata (Marshall) Borkh. Trimont Ridge west of Franklin along Bartram Trail. About 1 km west of Wallace Branch parking area. Elevation 793 m (2600 ft). Tree about 8-10 m tall, 111 cm circumference at breast height. Blighted with cankers but sev. smooth branches. 19 Nov 1989. [flowering & fruiting specimen]
