Castanea dentata (Marsh.) Borkh. Five miles NNE of Sylva on 19A to Sugar Loaf cutoff, right up the logging road 200 yds. Left fork for six miles to Double Top Mtn. [location now property of Balsam Mountain Preserve] Well drained, med. rocky, med. distribution, med. to large [tree], 15 deg slope. 21 June 1964.
