Gayle Woody is interviewed by a Smoky Mountain High School student as a part of Mountain People, Mountain Lives: A Student Led Oral History Project. Woody grew up in Chicago in the 1950s and '60s and was involved in student government in high school. Growing up, Woody spent summers in Jackson County where her father was a seasonal ranger. She shares stories of these summers, including starting a small business as a child called Gayle
