Interview with Interview with Norma Baynes and Anita White Carter, elders in the Shiloh community in Asheville, N.C., and members of the Shiloh Community Association (SCA), and Shaniqua Simuel and Lauralee Petritz, managers of the Shiloh community garden. They discuss gentrification, various efforts to preserve the Shiloh neighborhood, the roles and function of the SCA, and the history and importance of the community garden. They explain the relationships the Shiloh community has to local historical organizations, the Biltmore Estate, the City of Asheville, and local universities.
