Description

Arnold James Hyde’s (1914-2010) handwritten notes on the events involved in the consolidation of Graham County Schools in the early 1920s. The consolidation included Robbinsville, Sweet Gum, Bear Creek, Franks Creek, Mountain Creek, Little Snow Bird, Upper and Lower West Buffalo, Atoah, and Highlands School creating Cheoah School District. Other school-related information includes the names of Board Members, monies spent, buses, religion in school, payment to the Black school in Tapoco, and a list of superintendents from 1903-1914.
