This 1991 Swain County High School senior class photograph was taken on the steps of the United States Capitol building in Washington D.C. The photograph is signed “To Wendy: Best Wishes Charles H. Taylor.” Each year from as early as 1953 until about 2015, Swain County seniors took a trip from Bryson City, North Carolina to the District of Columbia with high school teachers as their chaperones. Until 1970 the trip was made by a combination of bus and train via Southern Railway. Starting in 1971 a bus was taken the entire way. The second page includes a pdf of the image with names.
