Description
Several people standing on the sidewalk in 1957 in front of Roland Jewelry on Eagle Street in Asheville, NC. In 1960, the Asheville Student Committee on Racial Equality (ASCORE) began meeting in the back of Roland Jewelry to plan nonviolent civil rights protests, such as lunch counter sit-ins.
