Description
In this letter of January 18, 1945, Laura Kephart writes her son Leonard Kephart and tells him of the large snow drifts they are experiencing in Jacksonville, NY where she is with Lucy at the Lurch. She says the neighboring farm is considering selling the cows as it may be taken over for a Veteran’s home and she may be displaced again. She talks about being annoyed that her income tax is used to pay traveling expenses for Eleanor, F.D.R., and Harry Hopkins. She mentions two more deaths from the war, Dorothy Colby’s son and Snyder’s son.
