In this letter of July 21, 1947, Laura Kephart writes her son Leonard Kephart to let him know that she and the Rileys enjoyed his talk. She tells him that Harry Boda, across the road from the Riley farm, is selling building lots. Cornelia and her husband Carleton are hoping to come visit August 15th. Laura hopes that more members of the family can come too, as there is plenty of room for everyone. She informs Leonard that Karl Fernow is in the hospital and his operation to remove ulcers went well.
