Description

Lee Daggerhart Jr. shares his memories of the Cherryville New Years shooters tradition, a long-standing tradition that started in Germany along the Rhine River where celebratory gunfire was used to ward off evil spirits and ensure a good harvest. Daggerhart was born and raised in Cherryville, NC. He describes how he has brought the tradition to other places he has lived. While he hasn’t participated every year, Lee watches from a distance and has hosted the New Years Shooters at his home.
