Description
Georg Bidstrup carving at a Craftsman's Fair, c. 1960. Georg Bidstrup (1902-1971) was a Danish immigrant who arrived at John C. Campbell Folk School in 1926. He managed the Folk School's farm and taught Danish gymnastics and folk dance. In 1936, he married Folk School co-founder Marguerite Butler. Georg served as Director of the Folk School from 1952 to 1967.
