Description

Brasstown Carver Sue Byers McClure (1916-1994) began carving around 1940 at the invitation of her neighbor Ruth Hawkins. Sue made much of her income from carving, balancing homemaking with carving all day. She was well-known for her variety of animal figures, especially turkeys and deer.
