Description

Tentatively identified as Brasstown Carver Josephine Hughes Franklin (1917-1972). Josephine was best known for her carvings of bears. At the time of Josephine’s death, a fellow carver paid tribute to her by saying “She has carved joy and beauty into the hearts and homes of many all over the country.”
