Description
Fannie Ivester sands a two-dimensional woodcarving. Fannie Sherlin Ivester (1899-1984) began carving by the early 1940s, becoming one of the first female Brasstown Carvers. She encouraged other family members, such as her daughter-in-law Abalee Dockery Ivester, to also take up carving.
