Description
A view of the reconstruction of the Biltmore Forest School's schoolhouse in progress. The unfinished frame of the schoolhouse is in the center of the image, behind an informational panel and a stack of lumber. Two workers are sawing a board in the far left of the scene. Reconstruction of the school's buildings began in 1967 and the site was designated as "The Cradle of American Forestry" by Congress in 1968. In 1974, the site was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
