Description

Dr. Carl Schenck (right) and Reuben B. Robertson, manager of the Champion Fibre Company, (left) stand in front of a tree planted to honor the Biltmore Forest School's relocation to Sunburst, NC in 1910. A man learning between them is working on planting the tree. A plaque in front of the tree reads: "This Tree planted June 9, 1951 by Dr. Carl A. Schenck commemorates the fact that in 1910 the Biltmore Forest School foudned by Dr. Schenck, as the first School of Forestry in America, held its sessions in the nearby Sunburst logging camp of the Champion Paper and Fibre Company."
