Description

This letter of November 12, 1863, finds James Cathey, of Hiwassee, Georgia, writing to Joseph Cathey, informing him of the poor conditions of his farm and crops. James raises the possibility of renting land from Joseph and moving so that he might be able to grow food. He also inquires about the price of corn and other grains and of cattle in the spring.
