Description
This photograph, taken in the mid-1940s, shows John C. Campbell Folk School students and community members dancing in the school's Keith House. Built in the 1930s, the Keith House housed administrative offices, a weaving room, and the community room shown here. The Folk School adapted Danish folk traditions as forms of cultural enrichment. Morning song and evening folk dances are two traditions that continue today.
