Description

This 4-page pamphlet was written by Olive Dame Campbell after she and Marguerite Butler traveled to Denmark and several Scandinavian locales to study the systems of education in rural areas in the early 1920s. It was used to introduce the philosophies which Campbell hoped to use in starting a rural Appalachian school. These theories have guided the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, N.C. since 1925 to the present day.
