Description
This photographic postcard depicts the 'Husk' family of cornhusk dolls made by Margaret C. Revis of Buncombe County, North Carolina. Revis sold these dolls through Allanstand Cottage Industries during the 1920s and 1930s. In 1930 the designs for her dolls were patented through the Allanstand shop with the exclusive right to "make, use and vend" going to the Allanstand Cottage Industries, Inc. for a period of seven years. This postcard was produced as promotional literature for the shop and was modified and reproduced several times with the original photograph provided by Cline photographers.
