Description

This photograph was taken by an unknown photographer at the 1915 White Rock Fair. It features a display of several textiles including woven coverlets, two quilts, and a hooked rug hanging on the right-hand wall. The coverlet hanging between the two quilts is in the weave pattern Whig Rose. A note on the back identifies two of the quilt items as Blue Geometric and Lady's Puzzle. White Rock is located a few miles east of Allanstand in Madison County, North Carolina. Allanstand Cottage Industries was a craft cooperative founded in western North Carolina in the 1890s by Frances Louisa Goodrich (1856-1944).
