Description

In this February 3, 1930 letter from Dr. Warren Wilson to Frances Goodrich, Wilson responded to Goodrich's request to liquidate stocks and sell Allanstand Cottage Industries. At the time of this letter, Wilson was employed as an administrator for the Board of National Missions of the Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. and served on Allanstand's Board of Directors. Wilson was supportive of Goodrich's plan and agreed to sell his stock and resign from the Allanstand Board. Although mention is made of selling the business to Minnie Reese, the business was transferred in 1931 to the newly formed Southern Mountain Handicraft Guild (which soon became the Southern Highland Handicraft Guild). A second letter, dated February 7, 1930, confirms that the Allanstand Board accepted Wilson's resignation.
