Description

This photograph depicts a patchwork quilt identified as the "Pine Burr" design. The quilt may have been sold through Allanstand Cottage Industries in the early 1900s. Product brochures indicate that customers could order a custom made double bed quilt for about $20.00. This photograph was probably used as an example of a quilt design available through the shop. Not much is know about the quilts which were sold through the Allanstand shop, but this appears to be a pattern available from the Mountain Cabin Quilters of Jackson County who sold quilts through Allanstand during this time period. The quilt maker and photographer are unknown.
