Description

This Virginia-style dulcimer is characterized by the following: boat-shaped body, centered and raised fret-board with drilled sound-holes, and round or s-shaped sound holes. It was likely made in the second-half of the 19th century out of walnut although the top of the instrument appears to have been painted. The scroll at the end of the head has a nicely hand-carved six-pointed star on each side.
