Description
These documents pertain to the life and work of Edd Presnell (1917-1994), an Avery County woodworker known mostly for his hand made dulcimers. Included are two Southern Highland Handicraft Guild member questionnaires from 1958 and 1965. Presnell was born and raised in the western North Carolina mountains. He married into a crafting family where his father-in-law taught him the craft of carving bowls and dulcimers. His work was shown at many fairs including the Interrnational Exhibit in Cairo, Egypt.
