Southern Highlanders, Inc.

This document lists the common stockholders producing for the Southern Highlanders, Inc., in the early 1940s. Individual craft artists and production centers who sold their products through the Southern Highlanders were allowed to be stockholders in the enterprise. While this list was compiled in May 1940, the comments next to stockholders names give an indication of how World War II was affecting the craft industry. Several businesses closed or "disbanded" due to rationing of materials needed for their work or because the craft artists themselves were in the military or otherwise doing "government work."
