Description

John C. Campbell Folk School published a series of newsletters from 1926 to 1950. Written like a letter from the school's director, the newsletter is a source of information about the classes and activities at the Folk School and their impact on the surrounding community. This issue outlines the history and purpose of the school as it anticipates opening with classes in December 1927. The newsletter also contains descriptions of the new community room, Dedication Day, and the success of the Women's Community Club, whose activities included gardening, community welfare, health, an Easter Egg Hunt, and the Old Folks' Dinner at the Log House Museum. A list of trustees and advisors reflect the breadth of involvement and support from outside of the local region. Included are photographs of the Community Room and local children.
