Description
William Waldo Dodge, Jr. published this sales brochure featuring the range of silver work that could be purchased from his shop. The Dodge Silver Shop was founded in 1924 in Asheville, N.C.; in 1928 it moved to Biltmore Forest where Dodge was assisted by several silversmiths. Photographs and diagrams in the brochure explain the differences between various types of bowls and plates. Dodge explains the basics of his technique and pricing. Dodge was trained as an architect before he went to Europe for World War I. After the war he came to the Oteen Veterans Administration Hospital in Asheville, N.C. for treatment. There he was taught metalwork as part of his rehabilitation.
