Description
These minutes document a meeting held in 1925 to plan an arts & crafts exposition to be held in Asheville, North Carolina. The purpose of the exposition was to showcase the revival of craft initiatives taking place in the region by featuring demonstrations as well as sales. Meeting attendees included Mary Martin Sloop of Crossnore School, Clementine Douglas, owner of the Spinning Wheel, and William W. Dodge, who operated the Asheville Silvercraft Shop. They hoped to encourage other participants like the Appalachian School (home of Penland Weavers and Potters), Allanstand Cottage Industries, and Tryon Toy-Makers and Wood-Carvers.
