This photograph depicts regional crafts exhibited at the meeting of the Conference of Southern Mountain Workers held in Knoxville, Tenn., in 1931. The Southern Mountain Handicraft Guild (later the Southern Highland Handicraft Guild) met in conjunction with the Conference. The Guild presented an exhibition of mountain crafts with an emphasis on the tools for creating crafts. In this photograph a great wheel occupies the left side. A small bucket and coal shovel and a scraping [?] board are in the foreground. The drop-leaf table is covered with various fiber works, and has two chairs. A woven coverlet, a pieced quilt, and a broom are in back. A cupboard stands at the right.
